FatWheelScoot is now Steed
We've changed our name from FatWheelScoot to Steed. Here's everything you might want to know.
Why did you change the name?
"Steed" is shorter, easier to remember, and a better fit for where we're taking the business. We've held the Steed trademark for a while and decided it was time to use it. The name is the only real change — the company, the team, the products and the service are all the same.
Does this affect my order?
No. Any order you've placed, or are waiting on, ships and is registered with the DVLA exactly as before. You don't need to do anything. If you've already got tracking or order links, they still work.
Is my warranty still valid?
Yes. Your warranty carries over in full — same cover, same length, same terms. Nothing resets and nothing changes. If you ever need to claim, just get in touch as you would have before.
What name will I see on my bank or card statement?
For now you may still see FATWHEELSCOOT.COM on your statement — both names are us. We're updating the payment descriptor to Steed, and until that change completes you might see either name (FATWHEELSCOOT.COM on an older charge, Steed on a newer one). It's the same payment to the same company (Coverlevel Ltd) either way, so there's nothing you need to do.
I got an email from a @ridesteed.com address — is it really you?
Yes. Our new email domain is ridesteed.com, so you'll see addresses like support@ridesteed.com and firstname@ridesteed.com. Any address you've used before (the old @fatwheelscoot.com ones) still reaches us too, so nothing you've saved will bounce.
Do my old links, bookmarks and QR codes still work?
Yes. Our old website automatically redirects to the new one, and it'll keep doing that for the long term. Bookmarks, links in old emails, and the QR codes printed on your paperwork all still take you to the right place.
What happens to your reviews and Trustpilot rating?
Nothing is lost. All your reviews, ratings and history move with us under the new name. We're keeping the same Trustpilot profile and score — just with the Steed name and the new website address.
Who is Coverlevel Ltd?
Coverlevel Ltd is the company that has always owned and run the business — first as FatWheelScoot, now as Steed. It's the legal name you'll see on invoices, receipts and our policies (full details: Coverlevel Ltd, company number 14365739, VAT GB445486370). Same company, same registration, just trading under the Steed name now.
